Rules for creating a flower garden

Rules for creating a flower garden

Each flower requires its own specific unique frame, and this primarily depends on where and in what company it was planted.

It happens that inexperienced gardeners will plant flowers in a chaotic manner in an ordinary garden bed, and then wait for a grandiose flower garden to grow.

But in order to transform an ordinary bed into a beautiful garden, you need at least a superficial knowledge of gardening and flowers in particular. But later, his own creation will delight both its founder and those around him.

Today, the choice of a flower garden or flower arrangements is thoroughly and demanding. An ordinary flower bed is no longer surprising, so more often you can find various options for the execution of a flower garden.

The following types of classic flower beds are popular in modern landscape design: an island flower bed, a raised flower bed and a flower bed in flowerpots.

Island flower bed

1. Such a composition consists of a group planting of plants with different heights. Such a flower bed has smooth contours and does not use fences.

Raised flower bed

2. The raised flower bed rises slightly above the ground. Usually it is 0.5-1 m. As a rule, such a structure is fenced with decorative walls made of brick or stone.

Flowerbed in flowerpots

3. A flower bed in flowerpots can be made from any available materials, for example, in an old cart or barrel.

In any flower garden, each plant, planted in its place, is of great importance, and thus becomes part of a unique picture.

First of all, before creating a flower garden, professional designers create a project on paper.

It all starts with choosing the style of the future composition and color scheme, after which a sketch of the flower garden is drawn. Here you need to take into account many details: the size of the plants, the distance between them, the location of the cardinal points, lighting, the presence of a lawn and other nuances. For this, it will be better if the plan is drawn at a scale of 1:50 or 1: 100.

Perhaps the sketch is the most difficult stage in creating a flower garden. Therefore, a novice gardener is advised to consult a specialist. The cost of such work is approximately $ 150 per 1 m².

Today, most gardeners choose a rabatka instead of flower beds. This is such a variegated border of various plants, usually no more than 1.5 m wide (maximum 3 m).

When the rabatka seems monotonous, it is diluted with small beds and other larger plants - roses, dahlias, delphiniums, ferns, as well as a running path.

The rabatka can be of two types: one-sided and two-sided.

One-sided discount

In the first case, the flowers are planted in height - the higher ones are placed in the background, and the lower ones - in the front.

Double-sided collar

In another version, the decrease in plant height occurs from the middle of the flower garden to the edges simultaneously on both sides.

Color style is of great importance in the design of the composition.

Of course, it is better to think in advance in what style the flower garden will be. Therefore, for complete clarity and better perception, it is recommended to draw the future flower garden in color.

When creating a composition, remember that cold shades (green, blue, purple) are suitable as a background, and warm colors (red, orange, yellow) are used to attract attention.

White plants will weaken the color of the spectrum, while black ones, on the contrary, will enhance it. That is, they help to correct the unwanted neighborhood of shades.

These may not necessarily be plants, but various decorative materials such as marble chips, decorative chips, colored pebbles. Today, modern landscape designers give them a significant role in creating a flower garden.

When choosing a garden style, they are based on the harmony of colors.

First of all, the color will be more saturated if there is a contrasting shade on its background. They are placed opposite each other in a color wheel.

Second, to make the colors less saturated, it is necessary to place them closer to each other.

Third, in order for the contrast to be stronger, the colors should differ as much as possible in their brightness and saturation.

There are 2 types of contrast: color and brightness.

In the first variant, a combination of different shades is used at the same brightness.

And in brightness contrast, a combination of various brightness is used that are the same in color.

This must be remembered when forming a monochrome flower garden, when you need to diversify the composition, because even white has many shades, not to mention other tones.

Mixborder

In modern times, the mixborder is the most popular. With its help, even in a tiny area, you can plant a large number of various plants, and even some shrubs. The mixborder is based on perennial plants, and everything else depends on the choice of the owner.
