Caring for large indoor plants

Large indoor plants can perfectly take root in any apartment, the main thing is to provide them with proper care.

What are the most popular large plants and how should you care for them? Features of their watering.

Oleander. This large plant is very fond of light. With a lack of lighting, oleander often sheds its leaves, which has a negative effect on its development and flowering.

You can only keep the flower in a cool place, for example, near the balcony. If the plant is always warm, the mat may attack it. Oleander will help protect against pests by daily spraying in the evening.

For successful growth, this flower will need abundant and regular watering: at least twice a week. On hot summer days or when there is strong heating in the apartment, it is useful to leave water in the sump.

Bamboo palm (chamedorea). This plant is very fond of light, but it is afraid of direct sunlight: it will feel great on the windowsill of an east or west window. In winter, the palm tree should be kept in a room with a temperature of no more than eighteen degrees.

In the warm season, the bamboo palm is watered abundantly, in winter and autumn - moderately, and they also make sure that the ground does not dry out.

The bamboo palm is very fond of high humidity: dry air can lead to the fact that the leaves turn yellow quickly. And the flower will be struck by a spider mite. To prevent this from happening, the palm tree needs a regular shower and good spraying.

Monstera. A large plant native to the tropics, it fits perfectly into the interior and does not require special attention.

The most important thing for a monstera is lighting. The flower should not be placed in sunny rooms: in the direct rays of the sun, the color of the leaves will surely fade.

However, a long stay in the shade of the monstera is also contraindicated: the growth of the plant is noticeably reduced, the leaves become small.

The optimal place for a monstera is a room that faces east or west.

The plant is very fond of high air temperature, so it should not fall below 17 degrees indoors.

As the monstera matures, holes form on its leaves, which eventually develop into cuts.

It grows most rapidly in the light area. These flowers have the property of rapid growth, while they grow very strongly. The plant can reach a height of 5 meters. The monster needs to be watered regularly, but not flooded.

He loves moisture, needs abundant watering, but in between waterings it is required to let the soil dry out. Remember to spray the flower once a week.

Ficus. The most common among florists is Ficus Benjamin. This plant came to us from countries with hot and humid climates: the Philippines, China, Australia.

When grown outdoors, it reaches 20 meters in height, but when grown indoors, it does not grow more than three meters.

Ficus Benjamin can be called touchy. First of all, he needs a permanent place in the house. By rearranging, turning and moving the flower, you can "offend" it, because of which it will throw off all its leaves. Choosing a place for this flower is a big responsibility, because he does not like cold, sudden temperature changes, darkness and drafts.

The optimum temperature for keeping this large plant is no more than 22 degrees.

From time to time, the plant needs spraying, and about once a month - a full shower. The main thing when caring for a ficus is to monitor its soil. It cannot be too wet, the plant can wither away from excess moisture, and it must also not be allowed to dry out. Ficus also needs to be regularly wiped with a damp cloth.

It quickly adapts to the conditions of detention, with proper care, it pleases for a long time with its beautiful appearance and is actively developing.

The laurel needs bright lighting, its dense leaves are not subject to burns. He will be more comfortable in direct sunlight than in the shade. For laurel, high humidity is needed, it needs frequent spraying and a shower. In summer, it is recommended to water the plant abundantly, preventing the soil from drying out too much.

In order to preserve the variegated color of the leaves, you need to put the flower in a well-lit place, even in the cold season. The plant has very delicate leaves, so it is better not to put it in direct sunlight in summer. Dieffenbachia does not tolerate drafts, it can even get rid of the lower leaves. During the period of spring and summer, it needs abundant watering, in winter no more than once every 7 days.

Indoor maple (abutilone). A bright representative of the Malvaceae family, originally from the Tropics, pleases for a long time with its lush flowering and does not require special conditions of detention.

Abutilon grows up to 1.5 meters long and has a long flowering period (from spring to autumn). The plant prefers bright, sunny places. A good solution would be to install a flowerpot with a plant on a glazed balcony, where it is light enough, warm and there is always access to fresh air. In the warm season, it needs abundant watering, the rest of the year, watering should be moderate.

The plant loves light, but also perfectly perceives partial shade. To grow a beautiful and uniform crown, rapeseed sometimes needs to be unwrapped. It has no special requirements for air humidity. It tolerates dry air well, but in the hot season it is better to periodically spray palm leaves with settled water at room temperature.
In summer, it needs abundant watering, in winter - in moderate watering, but the earth should not dry out much.
