Hungarian lilac
Syringa josikaea
Maximum height of an adult lilac: 3.5-4 m. Maximum crown width: 3.5-4 m. Crown shape: dense, round. Leaves: broadly oval, dark green, turn yellow in autumn.
Flowers: tubular, collected in pyramidal inflorescences, bright purple, 6-8 mm. Flowering time: April-May. Growth rate: fast growing, 35-40 cm per year.
Location: grows well on loamy, alkaline, fertile soils. Prefers sunny locations, but can grow in partial shade. Frost resistant. Applies to: Looks great as a single plant against the background of a shrub group. For the formation of a hedge.
