Apple variety "Golden Delicious" is of national origin from the USA, South Virginia. It is quite widespread in Ukraine, in the south of Russia and the warm countries of the CIS, and is successfully grown by European gardeners. Productivity: high, 70-80 kg per tree.

Tree shape. This is a medium-sized variety, it grows up to 2.5-3 meters in height. The crown of young trees is pyramidal, with age it becomes more rounded, branched. Skeletal branches grow at an acute angle to the trunk. The apple tree blooms beautifully with large pink flowers.

The variety is self-fertile and needs pollinators. Top pollinators: Idared, Elstar, Gloucester, Melrose, Jonathan, Wagner Prize, Kuban and Delicious Spur.

Fruit. Begins to bear fruit 2-3 years after planting. In the first years, fruiting is regular, in subsequent years it depends on care and weather conditions. Fruits are round-conical in shape, with dry skin, greenish-golden, sometimes with a blush, large, weighing 140-170 g. The flesh is greenish, dense, very juicy in freshly harvested apples, yellow or cream in color when lying down. Fruits are picked at the end of September, they can be stored until April without losing their juiciness. Consumer maturity comes in December. Taste: sweet, with a rich aroma, after lying down - dessert with a spicy aftertaste. Ripening period: end of September.

Location and landing. Sapling Golden Delicious grows best in loose, fertile, sandy loam soils, medium loamy, black soil. In order for the tree to grow well and bear fruit, you should choose a bright, not ventilated place for planting. Does not tolerate stagnant water. Winter hardiness: fairly high frost resistance. Disease resistance: susceptible to powdery mildew, regular treatments are necessary.
