Liriodendron tulipifera (lat.Liriodendron tulipifera) or Tulip tree is a large, fast-growing deciduous tree of the Magnoliaceae family. Translated from the Greek Liriodendron - Lily tree. Habitat: large hills, low mountains, forests in the east of North America. Acclimatized for cultivation in Ukraine, except for the northern regions.

Features and benefits of the Tulip tree: Liriodendron is an excellent honey plant. The tulip tree was named for its large, fragrant lyre-like flowers, similar to tulip flowers. The lifespan of the Liriodendron is more than 500 years.

Maximum height of an adult tree: 25-30 meters. Annual growth 35-40 cm in height.

Crohn: Pyramidal or round, in open areas oval or conical. Leaves are wide, smooth, with four lobes, bright green in autumn turn golden yellow.

Flowering: begins in May-June. The flowers are fragrant, large, 5-8 cm in length, yellow-green in color with orange veins, shaped like tulips. Mature trees bloom, starting from 10-15 years after planting.

Location: The tulip tree grows well in the sun. Prefers drained, fertile soils.
