Radermachera (lat.Radermachera) is a plant of the Bignonium family. Homeland - Southeast Asia. It was brought to Europe from Taiwan quite recently - in the 80s of the last century.

Reaches a height of 1.5 m. It is quite simple to care for, loves moisture and light.

Plant names: Radermachera, Radermachera chinensis (sinica), Indoor ash, Stereospermum sinicum.

Radermacher's Chinese - Care

Lighting. Radermacher loves a bright, sunny place, it is optimal to place it near the east or west windows. The plant must be periodically rotated around the axis so that its crown and trunk are not deformed.
Like most indoor plants, it does not like direct sunlight, so in summer it must be shaded from the midday sun.

Temperature. Radermacher feels good in summer at temperatures of 20-25 ° C. She prefers fresh air, so ventilate the room, just do not leave it in a draft. In winter, it feels good at a temperature of 15-18 ° C, but not lower than 14 ° C.

Air humidity. If the radermacher is kept in a dry atmosphere, it must be sprayed periodically. It is necessary to spray with water from the filter so that no lime spots remain on the leaves. On hot summer days, the radermaker will not refuse a refreshing shower.

Watering. In the spring-summer period - abundant watering. Radermacher drinks water very well. In the autumn-winter period, watering is more moderate, but care must be taken to keep the topsoil dry.

Top dressing. Regular feeding with universal or fertilizer for indoor plants from spring to autumn 1 time in 2 weeks.

Transfer. They are transplanted to the radermacher in spring, young plants - annually, adults - once every 2-3 years. The pot is taken one size larger than the previous one, i.e. 2-4 cm more in diameter. Soil mixture: 1 tsp turf, 1 tsp leaf, 1 tsp humus earth and 0.5 tsp of sand and peat. Bloom. It is very rare for adult radermakers to bloom in indoor conditions. The flowers are in the form of yellow bells.

Reproduction. Propagated by radermacher by seeds and cuttings. Seeds are sown in a fertilized substrate, covered with a transparent bag to maintain moisture. After 10-14 days, sprouts should appear, which after 3 weeks are planted in small pots.
Cuttings obtained from pruning in the spring can be rooted in a mixture of peat and sand. The size of the cuttings should be no more than 10 cm. The cuttings should also be covered with a bag, make sure that the temperature does not drop below 25 ° C and water and spray regularly.

Diseases and pests. It is affected by the scabbard, spider mite. Leaves drop and dry out from insufficient watering.

Plants in winter. Spray regularly and do not overdry the radermacher.
From a lack of light, shoots stretch out and small leaves appear. Place the plant closer to the window.
